Condolence: These words truly are a great comfort ‘And he said to him: “Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in Paradise.”-LK 23:43. May you cherish all the memories and great times you had together with such a wonderful man as a son, Father and Grandfather that he was. Soon we shall be in paradise together. Condolence From: Bobbie Blair
Condolence: LuVern was a long time friend and he will be greatly missed. He came to our church when he was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego. My husband, Walt Hatch, had preached on Sunday morning on LuVern's ship. My husband had invited the sailors to come and visit our church and LuVern came along with other sailors. Later he married Diane, and when he was shipped overseas, Diane lived with us. They both were wonderful friends and we became like family to them and their children. I will miss LuVern's singing and his great poems.

Condolence From: Amy Street
Condolence: From South Dakota our deepest condolences and prayers to the Sorensen family. You are in our thoughts at this sad time. We really enjoyed having them come and visit at the Meckling home and then Elk Point nursing home. I am sure they greeted him at the gate of heaven and are catching up. Again our deepest sympathies to all the Sorensen family from the Street family

Condolence From: Heather Landreth
Condolence: Luvern was one of the first people that I met when I came to the high school district office many years ago. He was a person who loved to connect with others. He was always happy to tell me a fun story, or teach me a phrase in another language (pretty sure I remember it being Japanese!), or to sing me a song with his beautiful voice. It was always a wonderful treat whenever I ran into him after his retirement. I'm so sorry that I won't have that opportunity any longer.

May God's peace be with all those who love Luvern. He's definitely singing in Heaven today!
