LuVern was a long time friend and he will be greatly missed. He came to our church when he was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego. My husband, Walt Hatch, had preached on Sunday morning on LuVern's ship. My husband had invited the sailors to come and visit our church and LuVern came along with other sailors. Later he married Diane, and when he was shipped overseas, Diane lived with us. They both were wonderful friends and we became like family to them and their children. I will miss LuVern's singing and his great poems. 4
